Youth Group Lenten Journey

As part of our Lenten journey, we will be exploring our faith.  The only leader for our journey is Jesus.  The aim is to discover more about who God is and more about who we are.  Each week there will be a challenge. 

Week 7 – The Disciples - The Journey    

Jesus hand - picked his disciples one by one.  Before he sent them out to teach and to heal in his name, he gave them careful instructions about what to do and how to do it. The twelve disciples were from very different backgrounds and political beliefs, but from that day forward they conducted themselves as Jesus' people, following his ways and teaching about him and about the goodness of God.

Today, we are disciples of Jesus. This is more than simply following; this is a lifestyle, a life,                                                     committed to Jesus and his purpose for our lives.

Challenges

• Read what Jesus said about being a disciple Mathew 16:25 and Mathew28:19,20
• Visit http://www.myfishbites.com/sessions-disciples.php
• Speak to a friend about your faith. It is sometimes very difficult to share your faith at school or college.  Do they know you are a Christian?  This week speak to someone about your faith – a friend or a teacher – ask them if they knew you were a Christian and how they knew. 
• We say the Apostles Creed – find out why it is called this?

A Disciple's Prayer

My Lord God
I have no idea where I am going.
I do not see the road ahead of me.
And I cannot know for certain where it will end.
But show me the desire in all that I am doing to please you
I know that if I do this, You will lead me by the right road
Even though I may know nothing about it.
For you are ever with me
Amen
