Lenten Journey As part of our Lenten journey, we will be exploring our faith. The only leader for our journey is Jesus. The aim is to discover more about who God is and who we are. Week 2 - Flat out for Jesus. Beginning on Ash Wednesday, Lent is a season of reflection and preparation before the celebrations of Easter. We remember how Jesus went into the desert for forty days. Lent is sometimes marked by taking up new things or giving things up. Shrove Tuesday - which is the day before Ash Wednesday, is when we use up all milk, eggs and fat by making pancakes.
The Church also has a tradition of not speaking or singing the word Alleluia during Lent - this is like putting away your very favourite toy for a while – to appreciate it more later.
